The incest centre
You may contact the incest centre directly. The staff are bound by rules of confidentiality and the service is free of charge. The incest centre provides assistance to adults and young people who have been subjected to incest and sexual abuse as a child. Guardians and partners may also contract the centre. The incest centre also carries out preventive work through education and information work.
Services offered by the incest centre include, among others:
- Personal conversations
- Training in building relations with others
- Self-help groups where emotions are worked out together with others. The participants help each other in the process, both in coming out of deadlocked situations and in taking responsibility for one’s own life.
- People who have been subjected to incest and sexual assault
- Parents and relatives of children who are subjected to assault.
State and municipal grants are made to the incest centre. The incest centre is not part of the municipality’s ordinary service, but it is the municipality that applies for state assistance and which approves the centre’s budget.
